Africa Social Protection Research & Advisory (ASPRA) is a Tanzania-based Pan-African research and policy advisory institution dedicated to advancing evidence, innovation and effective practice in social protection and public policy.

ASPRA brings together scholars, researchers, policy experts, practitioners and other professionals with extensive experience across Africa and beyond. We provide a multidisciplinary platform for generating rigorous evidence, strengthening institutional capacity, fostering policy dialogue and translating knowledge into practical solutions for complex social and public policy challenges.

Our work spans social protection, social security, labour markets, health financing, social protection financing, pensions, climate resilience, public policy, governance and other interconnected areas of sustainable and inclusive development.

We work with governments, social security institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, academia and the private sector to transform knowledge and expertise into better policies, stronger institutions and improved development outcomes.
